[ Bad News ] OnePlus confirms that the OnePlus 2 won’t get Android Nougat

  Although almost two years old, owners of the OnePlus 2 have been holding out that they might one day receive an official update to Android 7.0 Nougat. OnePlus previously said that the firmware update would be made available for the handset but never actually gave any exact time frame for its arrival. Well, today, the company finally confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will never receive an official update to Nougat… In an interview with Android Authority , OnePlus confirmed that it would never push out an official Nougat update to the OnePlus 2. When asked why, the company stated that “when we built the OnePlus 2 we didn’t have the software infrastructure team in place we do now.” This news shouldn’t actually be a surprise to anyone. [ Phone Launch ] OnePlus 5 Will Be Officially Unveiled On June 20th

From the last few weeks, OnePlus has been teasing some aspects of the OnePlus 5. Although we’ve known from since the last month that the device will launch during this summer, we have not been had an official announcement date pegged – until now.  Prepare your wallets folks, as the OnePlus 5 is set to be officially unveiled on June 20th at 12 PM EST . Apart from the known fact that the device will feature the Snapdragon 835 SoC and that its camera has been tweaked in collaboration with DxO, there are still many aspects of the device we have yet to discover. But that will change come June 20th.
