[Mobiles] How to Factory Reset/Restore iPhone even if it is Jailbreaked

Jailbreaking is cool it helps the users to unleash all the awesomeness of iPhone. It’s always great to use tweaks and hacks that make the device stand out from the rest. But the only dark side is a lack of OTA. Every time a new iOS update is released, you have to manually restore my iPhone through iTunes.

If any damages have been caused to your Apple iPhone 7 or any iPhone device by downloading unauthorized software or other means, a restore to original factory settings is one way to repair the issues. A full restore will delete all of the data on it, including all pictures, music, contacts and videos. This can easily be done from the phone or using iTunes.

Note: If you are jailbroken you void your warranty ie you can't charge Apple if any thing happens to your device. If if you did mess up, you came to the right place. We will help you to reset/restore your device to its original state so that you may regain warranty. If you reset your device to its default settings Apple wont be able to charge you and you should be fine to go.

Note: You may have to take backup as you can loose documents, pictures etc. It is always a good idea to take backup once every week.

So we move to the restoring process.

Method 1 Restore from your device

  1. Click on “Settings” and then on “General.”
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the General tab and click “Reset.”
  3. Tap “Erase all Content and Settings.”
  4. Enter your passcode (if you have set one) and confirm your reset by tapping “Erase iPhone.”

If method one didn't work for you or some how you cannot access your device please follow Method 2 or Method 3.

Method 2 Restore your device from an iTunes backup

  1. Open iTunes on the Mac or PC that you used to back up your device.
  2. Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable. If a message asks for your device passcode or to Trust This Computer, follow the onscreen steps. If you forgot your passcode, get help.
  3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes. If your device doesn't appear in iTunes, learn what to do.
  4. Select Restore Backup in iTunes. If a message says that your iOS device's software is too old, learn what to do
  5. Look at the date and size of each backup and pick the most relevant.
  6. Click Restore and wait for the restore time to finish. If asked, enter the password for your encrypted backup.
  7. Keep your device connected after it restarts and wait for it to sync with your computer. You can disconnect after the sync finishes.

Method 3 Restoring iPhone using IPSW File

Step 1: First thing’s first. Take a full backup of your iPhone using iTunes and make sure you choose the backup location to your computer and also include apps in the backup. This will make sure you don’t waste bandwidth to restore your iPhone. Just in case you want to be extra sure, you can also create an iCloud backup.

Step 2: Make sure your iPhone is at least 70% charged and look at the back of your iPhone for the model number. Now open this page and check if your phone is a GSM or a Global Model. Having done that, head over to IPSW Downloads and download the latest IPSW file for your iPhone.

Step 3: Now, select the device and the version of iOS you would like to download. Make sure you only download the signed firmware from here as they can only be restored using iTunes.

Step 4: The download file size can be around 2 to 2.6 GBs. Once it’s downloaded, restart the phone and connect it back to iTunes and wait for it to get detected. Open the iPhone management page on iTunes and then hold down Shift to click on the Restore button.

Step 5: Holding down the shift button and click on "Restore iPhone..." will give you the option to choose the IPSW files you downloaded from the web. Once you choose the file, iTunes will start the restore process and the phone might boot several times in between the progress.

Warning: Please don’t disconnect the phone from the computer till the progress is complete and you see the welcome screen on your iPhone.

If you still get the error, put your phone in DFU mode and then try to restore using iTunes.  Restoring using DFU mode should be the last resort and you can check this guide on how to put the iPhone in DFU mode in the very first place. It can be tricky to put the phone in DFU mode, but if you follow the guide, you will be able to achieve in 2 to 3 attempts.

After the phone is restored to the latest version of iOS, connect the phone again to iTunes and restore the backup you created at the very beginning. All your contacts, apps, messages will be restored back. In simple words, your iPhone will be back to what it was only on the latest version of iOS and without the jailbreak.

[Phone Launch] Xiaomi launches its first Android One smartphone named Mi A1

Xiaomi unveiled the Mi A1 earlier today in New Delhi, and the phone marks a shift in strategy for the manufacturer. While all Xiaomi phones thus far have featured MIUI, the Mi A1 offers stock Android. The phone is the first in a new lineup of Android One devices, with Google looking to aggressively target the budget segment in emerging markets. The highlight of the Mi A1 is its dual camera setup at the back with a 12 MP wide-angle and a 12 MP telephoto lens. The 50 mm telephoto lens captures the main image and the wide-angle lens assists with the depth of field measurement, and the two lenses work together to create a bokeh. The telephoto lens enables up to 2x optical zoom and for even further shots, Mi A1 offers up to 10x digital zoom. Also, like the Pixel and Pixel XL by Google in the past, the Mi A1 offers unlimited high-quality photo storage on Google Photos. [Tech News] Google Chrome Canary and Dev Builds now have Built-In Ad Blocker

Google depends on advertising for its revenue. It is to serve this purpose that the company collects all relevant data across all of its users. Our browsing habits, our shopping-related searches, our weekly schedule — all of these are of interest to Google because they grant an insight into our lives, allowing Google to serve personalized ads that have a higher chance to resonate with viewers. So earlier this year, when reports emerged that Google was looking to incorporate an ad blocker in Google Chrome  – its main browser that serves millions of Android users – many people were initially surprised. After all, ads are Google’s forte, so blocking them natively seems like a strange idea. However, the reports clarified that even though the ad blocker would be turned on by default, it will only block out those specific types of ads that are deemed too intrusive and that negatively affect a user’s browsing experience. Some users on Google Chrome’s Canary and...
