MI Max 2 launched yesterday, same as previous one. It comes
with 6.44 inch screen, huge capacity battery 5300mAh, stereo speakers, and MIUI
8 on top of Android Nougat.
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. It is coming with
4GB of RAM. Internal storage is expanded to 64GB, however you can expand it
further more to 128GB via SD card. It will coming with two storage variants
64GB and 128GB.It has 12MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.
It will be priced around Rs.16000/- for the 64GB variant and
Rs.20000/- when it comes to India.
So, my verdict is even though there is an upgrade on the
processor, battery and speakers, but it is leaving a segment where Oppo and
Vivo relies, that is camera particularly front one. I believe if the front
camera would have been 8MP that would have been better upgrade, but Xiaomi is
Xiaomi and what it offers at the price is much better than others.
However if you have already Mi Max, then I don’t think you
should go for Mi Max 2 rather go for MI 6.
