The Moto Z2 Play will soon be available in India. You’ll be able to pre-order at various retail stores across India starting on June 8. On that day we’ll also get more specific info when it comes out, the exact price of the device as well as its release date.

However, Lenovo did mention that those who will pre-order the Moto Z2 Play will have to dish out Rs. 2,000 right away and then pay the rest of the amount over 10 months without interest. Lenovo will be giving out a free Moto Armor pack with every purchase during the pre-order period. It also said that we can expect to see a few great deals on Moto Mods, but didn’t share any specific details regarding them.

As a reminder, the Moto Z2 Play was officially announced a few days back. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon 626 chipset. There are two variants of the device to choose from: one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage while the other with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. It comes equipped with a 12 MP primary camera with phase detection, laser autofocus, an f/1.7 aperture, and a dual-LED flash. The front-facing selfie snapper, on the other hand, has a 5 MP sensor, an f/2.2 aperture, and a front-facing flash.

Unfortunately, the smartphone features a smaller battery than its predecessor. It has a capacity of 3,000 mAh — compared to 3,510 mAh of the Moto Z Play — and can offer up to eight hours of use with just a 15-minute charge, according to Lenovo.

Other features worth mentioning are a fingerprint scanner that supports various gestures, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and expandable storage (up to 256 GB).

A dedicated website for the Moto Z2 Play has been set up where you can enter your details to get notified as soon as it goes up for pre-order. Click the below if you’re interested.

[Phone Launch] Xiaomi launches its first Android One smartphone named Mi A1

Xiaomi unveiled the Mi A1 earlier today in New Delhi, and the phone marks a shift in strategy for the manufacturer. While all Xiaomi phones thus far have featured MIUI, the Mi A1 offers stock Android. The phone is the first in a new lineup of Android One devices, with Google looking to aggressively target the budget segment in emerging markets. The highlight of the Mi A1 is its dual camera setup at the back with a 12 MP wide-angle and a 12 MP telephoto lens. The 50 mm telephoto lens captures the main image and the wide-angle lens assists with the depth of field measurement, and the two lenses work together to create a bokeh. The telephoto lens enables up to 2x optical zoom and for even further shots, Mi A1 offers up to 10x digital zoom. Also, like the Pixel and Pixel XL by Google in the past, the Mi A1 offers unlimited high-quality photo storage on Google Photos. [Tech News] Google Chrome Canary and Dev Builds now have Built-In Ad Blocker

Google depends on advertising for its revenue. It is to serve this purpose that the company collects all relevant data across all of its users. Our browsing habits, our shopping-related searches, our weekly schedule — all of these are of interest to Google because they grant an insight into our lives, allowing Google to serve personalized ads that have a higher chance to resonate with viewers. So earlier this year, when reports emerged that Google was looking to incorporate an ad blocker in Google Chrome  – its main browser that serves millions of Android users – many people were initially surprised. After all, ads are Google’s forte, so blocking them natively seems like a strange idea. However, the reports clarified that even though the ad blocker would be turned on by default, it will only block out those specific types of ads that are deemed too intrusive and that negatively affect a user’s browsing experience. Some users on Google Chrome’s Canary and...
